In 1970, Brother John Liew and Sister Florence Pang settled in Cambridge, from Malaysia, and began to hold weekly Sabbath services in their home; it was on 15th April 1972, the Lord established Cambridge Prayer House. While the prayer house has moved locations a few times, it has remained in West Cambridgeshire for over 30 years.
Currently more than five families attend on a weekly basis including members from Malaysia, Leicester, Newcastle and China. The Sabbath day includes prayer sessions, services, fellowship, Bible studies, training sessions and house visitations. CPH has two RE classes and recently, a burgeoning choir. Students and visitors continue to enjoy the quiet yet informal atmosphere of worship at CPH and we have been very blessed to host international events including the English Writer’s Retreat and the International Youth Fellowship visits, and national events including the Literary Seminar, National Student Spiritual Convocation and spiritual convocations.
As an over thirty strong membership and spiritual community, we look forward to striving further towards a faithful future and meeting new members and friends!
May the Lord bless us with a church building, soon, and continue to guide the holy work in Cambridge.
