CHURCH HISTORY IN EDINBURGH
Our Days at Gifford Park
In 1973, the brethren in Edinburgh began gathering for worship in a member’s home. By God’s guidance and mercy, many lost sheep returned to His fold. As the congregation grew from 20 to 200, a hall was rented from another religious group for regular services.
A prayer house was established on 1 January 1976. Not long after, with the increase in religious education students and newly baptised members, God moved our hearts and provided an opportunity to purchase a church building at the current location of Gifford Park Church in 1978. After renovation, it was dedicated to the Lord on 7 May 1979 in the presence of over 400 members.
Current Chapel at East Fettes Avenue
Many years later, as church membership continued to grow, another chapel belonging to the Church of Scotland, located at East Fettes Avenue in Comely Bank, was acquired at auction in 1983. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the chapel was eventually refurbished, and the church dedication service was held on 19 June 1990.
After four years, the chapel could no longer accommodate the increasing number of members, and a decision was made to establish a second local church. We give thanks to God that there are now two churches in the Edinburgh region: Edinburgh Church in Comely Bank and Gifford Park Church.

We are situated next to Broughton High School on East Fettes Avenue. The church is easy to reach from central Edinburgh and surrounding areas, with on-street parking available in the vicinity.

We are easily accessible by public transport, with bus routes running across the city. Several bus stops are within walking distance of the church.
