Q. If I leave during YTTC, can I still graduate?
A. To gain the most from YTTC, we encourage you to stay for the entire duration of the 3 weeks. If you really must leave during YTTC, please email yttc@tjc.org.uk with your Name, YTTC Year, Local Church in the subject heading. Please provide a valid reason why you need to leave YTTC. Detail the dates when you will be leaving and returning (including travel details – flight/train numbers, times, station names etc). The YTTC team will be in touch.
Q. Can I stay a few extra days after YTTC is finished?
A. It is not encouraged that you stay extra days after YTTC is over as this will add extra work to the local church members. If a student requires to stay extra days, you must seek permission from the YTTC team PRIOR to booking your travel. Where possible, we ask students to seek alternative accommodation to alleviate the workload of the host church. This also applies to international students.
Q. I missed the Travel sign up deadline, and I still want to attend YTTC. Can I still give my Travel details and attend?
A. If you have missed the Travel Sign Up deadline, please email yttc@tjc.org.uk with your Name, YTTC Year, Local Church in the subject heading, and explain why you have missed the deadline. Each case will be considered by the YTTC Team on an individual case-by-case basis, and you will be informed about the decision.
Q. If I am not booking my own travel, do I still need to enter my details on the Travel Sign Up page?
A. Yes, you are also still required to complete this travel form by the deadline. If your local church board is booking your travel, kindly remind them that you are required to attend both the Opening and Closing Ceremony.
Q. My travel times have changed, who do I contact?
A. Please email yttc@tjc.org.uk with your Name, YTTC Year, Local Church in the subject heading. Detail your new travel date, times and include airport/station name, flight/train number and any other relevant information.
Q. Will I be picked up at the airport?
A. We would prefer you to make your own way from the airport to the church and for you to travel with your local group. If you are unable to make your own way to the church and require pick up from the airport, the host church’s transport team will be in touch with you.
Q. I registered for YTTC but my plans have changed now, and I can no longer attend. Who do I contact?
A. Please email yttc@tjc.org.uk with your Name, YTTC Year, Local Church in the subject heading, and please explain why you are no longer able to attend.
A. At most churches this will not be needed. However, if you are required to bring a sleeping bag, you will be informed.
Q. Do I need to bring my own water bottle?
A. Yes, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle. Ensure it is labelled with your full name.
Q. Do I need to bring sports gear?
A. Yes. The local church may arrange sports activities. Bring a t-shirt, jogging bottoms, trainers, knee length shorts etc. Sisters, do not wear tight sports leggings.
Q. What do I wear on graduation day?
A: Graduation Uniform: For the Graduation Ceremony, all participants (students and TLs) must wear the following:
– YTTC official t-shirt.
– No tops/shirts underneath t-shirt, wear the YTTC t-shirt only.
– No cardigans or jumpers, or any accessories (eg. bow ties, braces, coloured belts etc).
– Smart, formal black trousers or below the knee black skirts.
– No leggings, no jeans or tight trousers are permitted.
– Smart formal shoes (no trainers).
Q. International students: What other things do I need to take note of?
A. Overseas applicants should book travel insurance in case of emergencies. Bring a plug adaptor if you require one your laptop or other electronics. The church will not provide any travel adaptors. Bring a paper or electronic English dictionary. Download this prior to YTTC as mobile phones will be removed when you arrive and there will be no access to the church wifi for any student.

Q. How do I send in my homework?
A. Please save your file name in the following format and upload onto the website. YTTC2017_YearX_Church_FirstNameSurname.docx (For example, YTTC2017_Year1_London_JohnSmith.docx)
Q. I missed the homework deadline. What shall I do?
A. The pre-course assignment is for your benefit. Completing this pre-course assignment will give you a good understanding of the books and it will mean you will not struggle to follow the lessons during the course. If you have missed the homework deadline, please email YTTChomework@gmail.com with your Name, YTTC Year, Local Church in the subject heading, and explain why you have missed the deadline. Penalties will be applied for homework submitted late, incomplete homework or failure to submit homework.
Q. I’m a Year 4 Student and I have been notified via email that I need to give a sermon. How long does the sermon have to be?
A. Your sermon should last around 15 minutes. Please ensure you time your sermon, and do not go over time. Allow for time at the beginning to sing a hymn and 30 minutes to pray at the end
A. If during the three weeks, you have a legitimate reason for using your device, you can ask a Team Leader and return it immediately after you are finished. After three weeks, your devices will be returned to you on the morning of the Graduation day. This is sufficient time for you to charge your phones in preparation for the journey home.
Q. Can I use the church Wi-Fi?
A. Do not use the internet (be it your own or anyone else’s), bluetooth or the church Wi-Fi. We are attending YTTC to seek God. If you need to use the internet, several church computers which are connected to the internet may be used – but you need to first seek permission from your TL and provide them with a legitimate reason.
Q. What should I do if during YTTC, I have observed another student using the church Wi-Fi or their mobile phone inappropriately?
A. If you observe any inappropriate use of internet or electronic devices, report it to your TL who will discreetly take the appropriate action.
Q. Can I take my laptop (or other electronic devices) to YTTC?
A. Yes, you can, but the church will not be responsible for any lost/missing items. Electronics devices must be used for studying only.

Q. What do I do if I feel unwell during YTTC?
A. Notify your TL immediately. If you require medication, do not help yourself. Please notify your TL who will sign off the Medication Form and administer medication; your TL will then be able to keep track of your medication intake and keep track of supplies.
Q. What should I do if during YTTC, I have observed another student or TL behaving inappropriately?
A. If you observe any inappropriate or negative behavior, report it to your TL or a preacher who will discreetly take the appropriate action. If the inappropriate behavior continues, after being warned by a TL or Preacher, the person may be asked to leave YTTC. The student who is sent home early will need to pay for their own return ticket home; the cost will not be paid for by the host church or the student’s own local church.
Q. What should I do if someone tells me something which I do not know how to deal with and/or it makes me feel uncomfortable?
A. Tell a TL and a preacher who will discreetly handle the situation for you. You are here to attend YTTC for yourself, and to build your relationship with God. Do not carry the burdens of others, share it with a TL and a preacher as they are trained to counsel and care for youths.
