Overseas Participants

For Overseas Participants, please complete the following steps:

Step 1. Listen to Audio Samples

All lessons in YTTC will be delivered in English only. No translation will be provided. In order to assess your level of understanding, you must listen to the following audio samples, which are extracts of past YTTC lessons. If you are comfortable and confident with your level of understanding, you may proceed with the application process.

*Please note, if you are a first time applicant, feedback and understanding of these recordings will be a part of your interview.

Step 2. Letter of Approval

You must submit a letter of approval from your local church (even if you are a returning overseas applicant). Please click here to download the form. Once completed, please email to: yttc@tjc.org.uk,

Step 3. Register 

Once you have completed the first 2 steps, you may apply online at the Registration Page by 31 March.

Step 4: Video call with the YTTC team.

The YTTC team will not be able to proceed with your application unless you have provided both your letter of approval (step 2) and registration application (step 3).

If you are a first time applicant, after the registration deadline, we will arrange an interview for you with someone on the YTTC team. The call will be conducted in English. We will confirm an appropriate time with you via email.

After the interview process, you will receive confirmation via email if you are able to attend YTTC.

Until you have been formally accepted please do not book any travel or accommodation.

Step 5: Travel Sign up 30 June

After you have been accepted for this year’s YTTC, please make travel arrangements to the applicable church. (For locations please see the main site for churches allocated to each year).

Step 6: Precourse assignments 1 July

All pre-course assignments, assignments during YTTC and tests must be completed in English.

Pre-course assignments will be distributed and sent out, with completion dates of July 1.

  • Bring a travel plug adaptor
  • Bring an electronic or paper English dictionary.
